Laddie John Dill

Sculptor, Painter, Light & Space Artist

Los Angeles native, Laddie John Dill graduated from Chouinard Art Institute in 1968.  At 28 he was offered his first one-man exhibit at the Sonnabend Gallery in New York.  Today he is an internationally known contemporary artist who has exhibited around the world and is widely collected.  Dill worked as an apprentice printer at Gemini GEL in Los Angeles, work that afforded him the opportunity to work closely with established artists such as Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns.  Their influence can be found in the choice of materials he began to use for his art.  His current wall pieces, for example, are a combination of many processes and materials and are the result of learned spontaneity, reflecting, as he states, “something magical.”The FOTM Archive contains extensive information about this artist.
